The 5th GAMA RC SPA contest, sponsored by the Georgia Aircraft Modelers Assn, was held on August 22-23, 2026 in Fort Valley, GA.

Pilots began arriving Thursday to practice in the 90 plus degree temperatures. Others arrived Friday to practice also in the same temperatures which lasted throughout the weekend. Pilots were thankful the GAMA club did have an airconditioned clubhouse for some relief from the heat.

There were 19 registered pilots. The pilots meeting was held at 9:00am on Saturday with flying shortly after. Four rounds were flown Saturday and two rounds on Sunday.

Other than being extremely warm it was a great event with all pilots having the opportunity to fly six rounds. Unfortunately, Roger Gillis had some bad luck losing his airplane near the pecan trees. He did stay and help judge which was much appreciated.

Due to everyone stepping up to judge and help out wherever needed, the awards and prizes were completed prior to 1 pm Sunday

$50.00 prizes were won by Joe Ryan and George Manning. The grand raffle prize of a complete ready to fly Kwik Fli III ARF was won by Kevin Bartoe.
