2019 Perry Model Show......Perry, GA

Had a GREAT time at the Perry, GA Southeastern Model Show this past weekend in Perry, GA. Above is the "greeting" we received upon arrival on Friday afternoon. Our good president, Jeff and Lorie had it all set up with help from Vic and Duane, Sec/Tres Keith and Dave and Peggy, all with that typical "Howdy Yawl" handshake and welcome.

This year, the Association had "information brochures" which we handed out a couple hundred of to modelers as they passed the tables, eyeballing the models on the tables and asking questions, relaying stories about flying, etc. These brochures were a genuine "asset"....and we learned something we'll incorporate to the next ones printed......a membership application.

One old member "renewed", that was Rick Helmke from Auburn, AL saying "I'm gonna get active again this season. One NEW member had me pencil his info on one of the brochures along with his initial membership dues. Proud to welcome....Mr. Buckley Stamps "Buck" as all called him, lives in Roswell, GA.

We had lots of visitors from the West, most from the Houston and Waco, TX area and we referred them to the SPA website and our Western Chapter for all the info from their areas.

Santa Claus Jim and Bobbie Johns presented your PIO with a (new to me) Casio digital camera when the old one "wore-out" and this is the first time I've used it. So, let me submit this 1st ever photo from it to see if it works...and if so, a few more will follow. If not, I'll have to get one of my Great-grandyoungens to show me the intricate details of its' operation. Again, much obliged Johnses and a safe and happy journey to Kansas and back. Many attendees asked about ya'll at Perry and said to "send their best".
